Work experienceWork experience

January 2008 onwards

Work experience is a valuable way to learn about the different types of careers available and to experience the day-to-day life of a workplace. Every year we offer work experience placements to pupils from South Camden Community School in the summer term. We try to make these weeks as active as possible and plan a packed timetable of meetings, tasks and visits from the students. Occasionally - if we have capacity - we provide other periods of work experience to particularly keen pupils who contact us separately.
Outputs

7 Camden students for two weeks (2/3 pupils once a year) plus, on average, additional 3 weeks of work experience for local young people who apply individually
Feedback / Outcomes

I really enjoyed work experience because I have learnt many things including looking interested at all times when in a meeting; how to deal with certain situations and I have improved many of my skills. I think I was able to learn a lot about development companies and how the world of work actually work.' Rahimi Hassam, SCCS pupil
