King's Cross has become home to London's top creative students.

Works have been completed to transform much of the Grade II listed Granary Complex - once part of a goods interchange at the height of the Victorian industrial boom - into a new campus for Central Saint Martin College of Art and Design, part of University of the Arts London. The Granary, an iconic building which forms the centre piece of the complex, contains the College's library and reception.

The world famous College, which boasts glittering alumni including fashion designer Stella McCartney, actor Anne-Marie Duff and sculptor Antony Gormley, opened it's doors in September 2011.

Designed by Stanton Williams, the students' King’s Cross home will ensure Central Saint Martins has a state-of-the-art campus that will allow it to focus its art, design, communication and performance departments on one site whilst incorporating and retaining much of the industrial heritage of the area.

In keeping with the design credentials of the rest of the 67 acre site, the University will draw hot water and electricity from the site wide combined heat and power (CHP) system in 1-3 Canal Street.
