Harvest Festival
In partnership with Business in the Community and local partners, BAM, Carillion, WSP, Global Generation and the Shoreditch Trust, Argent recently hosted a "Let's Get Cooking" event to celebrate Harvest Festival and demonstrate healthy eating. Five local junior schools. Ambler, Brecknock, Vittoria, Winton and Copenhagen joined our volunteers at the German Gymnasium for an afternoon of games and cooking.
Pupils participated in a game that called on them to identify different types of fruit and vegetables in an It's a Knockout style race. Cooking demonstrations came courtesy of partners at Acorn House restaurant. Pupils then made autumn vegetable wraps and prepared an apple crumble to take home and bake for their families.
The event was part of King's Cross Central's commitment to support local schools and develop projects that support the curriculum as well as raise aspirations. This project supported learning around healthy eating, whilst projects in the past have supported learning around issues such as citizenship, sustainability and local identity.
