Conventional Electricity supply in the UK s 30% efficient while CHP is 80% efficient.

King's Cross Central will have 7MW of CHP and the system will be one of the largest of its kind in the UK.

The Roof Garden has communal and private gardens together with green roofs. These are all located on top of the residential units and will promote biodiversity and attenuate surface water run-off.

The split in the building, shown opposite, shows the use of waste heat from the energy centre enhancing the contribution of the natural ventilation stack effect to the multi-storey car park.

Other points to note are that centralised utilities will provide site-wide services.
