Capture King's Cross
King's Cross Central joint-sponsored 'Capture King's Cross' with the British Library in conjunction with their exhibtion 'Points of View: Capturing the 19th Century in Photographs'. The aim of the project was to raise the profile of the King's Cross area, the King's Cross Central development and the British Library and provide an opportunity for all - from beginner to expert - to improve their photographic skills.
'Capture King's Cross' was made up of a photographic treasure hunt open to the general public, run by Shoot Experience, and a series of indepth photographic workshops with three local community groups run by the British Library. The three community groups were Holy Cross Church Trust (who included it in their time banking scheme), Age Concern and Somers Town Community Association. All photographs were shown in an exhibition in the German Gymnasium.

-challenge of treasure hunt (12%); and
-creativity of the event (10%).
Feedback from Age Concern workshops:
All participants enjoyed visiting the British Library and learning about the new developments proposed for the area. For many it was their first visit to the library and the KXC site. Participants enjoyed learning about the history of photography and developed new skills and confidence by taking photos of their own. A number of participants asked that the project be repeated. For Age Concern the site tour was the highlight.
